Example of Consecutive Proposals
Spanish Classes / / July 04, 2021
A proposition, unlike a sentence, refers to syntactic construction that is integrated into another sentence through a link, and it depends on that sentence in which it is inserted. In this sense, several propositions together form a compound sentence.
The Consecutive propositions are those that areunite by means of a consecutive nexus Y express the consequence or result of what is stated in the main sentence; that is, these propositions indicate what was the result or conclusion of what occurs in the main sentence. For example:
- "They were very much in love, consequently, they decided to marry quickly”: The consecutive proposition informs us of the consequence (they decided to get married) of the main action (they were very in love).
- "The exam was so easy that we finished in twenty minutes”: The proposition expresses a consequence (we finished in twenty minutes) of the main assertion (it was easy)
Structure of consecutive propositions
Consecutive propositions form consecutive compound sentences, which maintain the following structure:
- Main sentence + consecutive link + consecutive proposition
- “I have not eaten (or. principal) later (nexus) I'm hungry (consecutive proposition)”
The consecutive links that link these propositions are the following conjunctions and consecutive phrases:
- Later: "I think then I exist"," She is Catholic, then believe in life beyond death”.
- With what: “The process was automatic, thus saving time and money"," He has contacts within the offices, so they will get you a good position”
