Effective methods for obtaining and memorizing information that comes from a source
We certainly live in the information age. We are constantly receiving data and information of all kinds, but of course, sometimes, that storm of data and topics can still confuse us more, then, it will be necessary to develop and have tools that help us organize, extract and remember information in a satisfactory.
And this is precisely where the so-called mind maps are relevant and a great invention, effective methods when it comes to obtaining and memorizing information that comes from some source.
Diagrams that synthesize the themes through images and other graphic elements
The mind map is a type of diagram that is used when wanting to represent ideas, tasks, activities or all those other concepts that are associated with a keyword and that then, like satellites, will immediately locate to your around.
For example, in the case of preparing a work on communication, when it comes to visual messages, on my mind map, visual messages will be the word key or central idea, and signs, body, signs, eyes, among others, will be those concepts linked to her.
Applied by companies and in the studio
The main function identified by the mind map is to allow the visualization of ideas to help, whoever formulates it, in their study, in the organization of the information they are facing, in the writing and in some complex definition of decisions.
Therefore, this resource turns out to be extremely useful in terms of organizing information and data and also for studying. With a look at the mind map we can achieve a finished understanding of a topic and also that simplicity with which it is exposed will allow us to remember the data.
Companies usually use them to clarify some strategy commercial or some draft that he will face.
And of course students make extensive use of it because it facilitates learning of topics and highlight the most important of a subject that is studied.
Structure of the mind map
Mind maps have an organized structure using symbols, lines, colors, words, images, among other elements, to graph simple concepts or complex.
With mind maps and those main elements that make them up, it is possible that we transform a long and very boring information in very entertaining information that will be easy to understand and also memorize.
In any mind map worth its salt, we will find the following fundamental components: the central idea that will be precisely represented by a central image. Then and leaving this, the main topics will be indicated, while each of these will have a keyword or an image that symbolizes them.
Less important issues are represented as detachments from the centrals. And every idea, keyword or image will always have a connecting idea.
Origin and creation
The mind map concept was developed by British mathematician and psychologist Tony Buzan, who through this map wanted to strengthen the synaptic connections that occur between neurons housed in the cerebral cortex.
According to Buzan, when one uses a map of this type, the connections between concepts are presented in a radial way, promoting reflection for the organization of all the data. In the mind map, the concepts are not overturned following any procedure or parameter, but rather it is a practice more than anything of an intuitive nature and according to the importance of each concept. Those who highlight the benefits of this map consider that it helps a lot to the development of memory.
Tips for your elaboration
Some tips to develop a mind map are: use as few words as possible, start and put the idea in the center of the sheet that will be used in order to effectively visualize what will be the central idea of the mental map that we are elaborating.
