What is Triple / Quadruple Play

For a long time, when we are going to hire the telephone, or access to Internet for our home, or mobile telephony, or even digital television, we find offers that include everything in one package, at an advantageous price compared to those who contract these services distributed among several operators.

Not all operators offer us these conditions, but those that do, are offering us packages called “triple play” or “quadruple play”.

An offer or package of the triple play It is the one that offers both voice telephony services (landline), as well as Internet connectivity (generally broadband), as well as television or video content.

Going forward to the next definition, I will tell you that it will be the same as quadruple play, but removing the mobile telephony, that is, keeping all the communication services that can reach our address.

Although Internet connectivity can be ADSL, depending on the availability at the address of client, it will tend to be more like fiber. Even in rural areas, we could be talking about the Internet via

satelite or WiMAX, although this is the least common.

Video services can be of various types, provided by the same operator (for example, in Spain, Movistar +, Vodafone TV or Orange TV, for the three main operators of the country), or provided by external providers.

In the latter case, the services are usually provided by one or more of the best known "players" internationally, such as Netflix o Sky TV, to which are added national and international television channels, some of which are in foreign languages ​​of the country where they are exhibit.

The "quadruple play" adds to the triple, mobile telephony, both in terms of voice and data.

In this case, it is common to have offers that include several voice lines, as well as a large number of gigabytes for each line, to cover the needs of a Unit family.

This is so because we must think that while the home is unique, the members of the family there are several, so it is likely that several mobile phone lines will be needed in an integrated communications package, with their corresponding Internet connections.
