The ethics environmental is the branch of the philosophy which considers especially the relations between men and the environment in which they develop, and that is especially concerned and concerned with regulating that the actions of human beings do not threaten development and evolution of natural environments.
Branch of philosophy that deals with the regulation of human behavior vis-à-vis the natural environment
In the middle of the last century, the damage to the environment began to be publicly denounced both industries and men perpetrated with little awareness of respect for the environment environment.
Meanwhile, this growing situation triggered the need to create a specific space that ensures for the care of our nature and otherwise punish those who do not act in this sense.
A scale of values that invites responsibility and care for the environment
That is, environmental ethics proposes a moral regulation that demands responsibility by companies and men regarding the care of our natural environment.
The fundamental proposal of this branch of ethics is seek the well-being between society and nature so that human beings can develop in a natural environment cared for.
In this sense, environmental ethics deepens and addresses issues such as: the obligations that the individuals have with the environment and in order to do so how they should order their actions so as not to affect her; Also, environmental ethics proposes that the human being should be responsible for the entire planet that he inhabits, therefore must act in order to take care of him in the future so that his actions do not affect his immediate present but neither his neighbor.
Meanwhile, such a question will only be plausible to achieve with the effective commitment of men.
Fortunately, at present and after decades of denunciation and insistence on the installation of the problem in the mass media, the issue of the environmental crisis has become a global issue and then, states, individuals and organizations for the defense of the environment, have been proposing various solutions and alternatives, although of course, the task of education It is not simple and as we said it requires a concrete commitment.
Preserve and value nature for future generations to enjoy
Ecology and environmental education use this branch of ethics to exercise their mission of raising awareness and sensitizing society; They urge to develop a behavior that generates a new way of relating to the environment, in which there is absolute respect and care for it.
The fundamental function of environmental ethics is to develop those values that contribute to building a conscience aimed at preserving the natural environment, valuing it so that it can be enjoyed by generations to come.
If this responsibility and awareness are not mediated, that is, when the human being deploys an action absolutely antisocial and non-respect for the environment will end up generating and triggering endless problems environmental: contamination, global warming, among others, problems certainly that we all suffer today who we inhabit the earth, and that of course have had their origin in that irresponsible and little careful with him ecosystem.
The human being is solely responsible
Human beings are responsible for environmental problems and are closely linked to the absence of social values, the need to preserve and care for the environment in which they live.
Unfortunately, many do not appreciate, and others do not care directly, that all the damage they perpetrate today, and that which was generated yesterday, will have a negative repercussion tomorrow, and also today, we are already being spectators of the consequences of an irresponsible handling of man with nature in many aspects.
Now, environmental ethics aims to change the paradigm and thus achieve that man reflects on the damage caused, and that knowing it, and the negative consequences, becomes aware to act in a cautious and loving way with the environment.
Environmental ethics must seek compliance with regulations and the dissemination of values that make people aware, such as not throwing away garbage on the street and in the water, and about recycling, among other actions, which undoubtedly tend to generate a healthier world and less punished.
