Through the implicit term, it refers to what is considered included in something, in something, even if it is not expressed formally and out loud as who says. That is, the implicit does not need to be said because it is taken for granted.
Another less formal way of referring to what turns out to be implicit is to say that implicit is that which is understood, which is said but not said in all the words, but what is said is enough for the recipient of the message he understands it, even though he is not telling him in all the words and directly.
The implicit very present in our daily life
For example, when we ask a study partner if she can help us solve the exercise that the teacher commissioned as homework, actually, we will be saying help me with the homework, because in that question what is implicit is our inability to solve it on our own and the request of help, that is, even if we ask, what we want to say is help me!
Likewise, another example of implicit may be the act of a politician or some
social movement fighting, because in addition to a reason meeting with his followers, it may turn out to be the vehicle for communicate an implicit message towards an adversary or to demonstrate the rejection of some question or prevailing state of affairs. In the politicsFor example, this situation occurs a lot, when political leaders want to blame an adversary for something, to discredit them or to put them in an uncomfortable situation in front of the electorate, they usually use the implicit to express themselves and thus take something for granted without being crudely direct.
So, many times in our communications we use the implicit to express something in a rather veiled way, without being so direct, so that it can become something shocking for some recipients or in some contexts and then because of this situation is that they choose to express themselves in an implicit way, saying but not saying it with words direct.
Advantages and disadvantages of manifesting implicitly
Now, we must mention that not in all contexts it can be correct and functional to express itself in an implicit way. In the case of a written or acted fictional story it can be a great resource for a Author because it invites the reader or viewer to imagine issues and also to connect facts on their own, meanwhile, in interpersonal communications, Using the implicit to express yourself can lead to misunderstandings or the other to feel bad because he considers that he is not being told all the truth.
The other side: the explicit
On the contrary, the concept that is opposed to that of implicit and that is used every time the totally opposite is to be proposed is that of explicit. Something explicit is what is said bluntly, without any concealment and that is expressed clearly and forcefully either through words or actions. Not only can the explicit be realized through spoken expressions but it is also possible to do so through some gesture.
A person who, for example, responds to a request x with a sleeve cut, a typical signal and popular rejection of something, he is precisely expressing explicitly his opposition to that question.
