An operator is a professional who can work in various industries and fields, including radio, television, computing, consumer attention, building, physics and many others. The operator is usually in charge of functionally mediating between a technology or technological device and another instance that may be another operator or another professional or the general public.
There are different types of operators. For example, in the media field, an operator may be the one in charge of coordinating the functioning of certain machinery such as cameras, microphones, editing equipment and other devices. In radio, more precisely, the operator is the professional who, in direct relationship with the host and producer of the program, deals with to execute the pertinent sound and musical interventions that are indicated by means of a script or live by means of signals or others indicators.
In a customer service client, the operator may be the individual in charge of communicating an individual with a
institution or to answer informational inquiries from a consumer regarding a product or service. If it is a technical service, the operator usually has specific training or knowledge about said service in order to be able to solve - often by phone or online - different types of problems or malfunctions that may occur with a device such as a television or a computer. In other cases, the operator may approach the customer's home or office and try to solve the problem there. In addition, operators are often in charge of installing features and appliances such as televisions, air conditioners, modems, and many others.A computer operator is usually an individual with extensive computer training who can solve a multiplicity of errors or technical flaws, offer advisory and even programming and designing new functionalities for the device. IT operators are of high value to institutions of all kinds, from political to military, through educational, social and cultural spheres.
In other environments, such as an architectural construction, an operator or operator is usually the person in charge of the operation of certain machinery. Often times, the operator is the only individual in construction trained to handle certain apparatus or tools and, therefore, his work is highly required in the industry.
Even in other fields, such as science or health, an operator has technical knowledge that other actors involved do not possess and it is vital when mediating between technology and beings humans.
