A bus, also designated as bus, colectivo, guagua or simply as a bus, depending on the part of Latin America in which one is, is a vehicle of great size and capacity, which is used especially for the transport passenger crowd.

Generally, the bus carries between 30 and 120 people, along a fixed route, who want to move between urban and interurban areas. Likewise, buses can carry individuals over longer distances.

For example, we can find different types and formats of buses depending on the route they make.
Thus, those that circulate in urban and interurban areas are smaller than those that circulate they go out to the routes to make longer journeys, for example, to reach other provinces countries. In these cases, they are large buses, normally, they consist of two floors and have certain special amenities for the passenger travel that route in the most comfortable way possible, such as: bathrooms, semi-bed seats, televisions that transmit movies, wi fi, between others.

On the other hand, in the cities, with the mission of speeding up the route of the buses and that the passengers can then move more easily and quickly, it has been tax the modality of Metrobuses or express bus that circulate through exclusive lanes, that is, they do not share a place with the rest of the traffic.
Meanwhile, they can be accessed through stations that are normally located at certain blocks from distance. Cities like Barcelona, ​​Bogotá, São Paulo and recently Buenos Aires, they have this type of service.

The main advantage they have is that they allow to move almost the same volume of passengers than the subway being the costs of the building of the journey much cheaper.

Although most of the buses that travel in the cities and routes do so through engines of combustion internal and fuel diesel, an issue that has been imposed in recent times, as a result of the need to ensure the environment, is the development of electric buses and those powered by natural gas, two situations that help to reduce the contamination environmental.
