The pronoun, as part of the sentence, must keep a relationship of agreement with the other elements of the sentence. This agreement must exist in both gender and number.
These errors occur more frequently with relative pronouns, with demonstrative pronouns, with indefinite and possessive pronouns.
Some of these errors are due to ignorance or ambiguity regarding the gender of a noun, or when they substitute some collective nouns.
