A bay it's a Geographic accident very common to find on our planet which consists of the entrance, either to a sea, to a ocean or lake, which is smaller than that of a gulf and which is characterized by: being wide, being surrounded by land, exception of an opening that is the widest in relation to the rest of the inland entrance, and because it has a significant extension.
As there is no specific boundary between what is a bay and what is a gulf, large bays are often considered as gulfs. While, the gulf It is that part of a sea, of an enormous extension, which is enclosed by ends of land. In any case, to make the distinction easier, when they are small they are considered bays while if they are large they are indicated as gulfs.
On the other hand, those bays that are characterized by presenting a rather narrow sea inlet and shaped by the flooding of an excavated valley, are called fjord.
The bays, in addition to the geographical beauty they impose, represent an economic importance for the
nation in which they have been, since they are an ideal place to build ports. It should be noted that the bay is geographically opposed to other accidents such as the cape and peninsula. The first consists of a land mass that is projected into the sea, while the peninsula is the extension of land that has been all surrounded by Water except for an area that joins it to the continent.
On the other hand, Bahia is the name given to one of the federative units that make up the Federative Republic of Brazil. Its capital is Salvador of Bahia and stands out among so many Brazilian cities for being a pole cultural and by the predominance of African culture in their lands. It has an area of more than five hundred thousand square kilometers and a population of more than fourteen million people.
Also, the word bay designates a gender of plants that make up the family of the asteraceae.
