Definition of Rock Band

A rock band It is a very popular concept in our language since we use it to refer to that musical group that composes or performs songs that belong to the gender of rock.
Rock is a musical genre contemporary to our times, namely, arose in the last century and is characterized by interpretation of musical instruments such as: guitar, bass, drums, focusing especially on the sound of the guitar and drums, too, can be added to these instruments of keyboard such as the organ and piano.
It should be noted that early rock had its origin and influences on other popular rhythms and genres such as: rhythm and blues, gospel, blues, country, jazz and folk, among the main.
Many of these sounds were combined in a simple way and thus rock would emerge, a danceable, catchy and extremely fast style.
While rock songs have historically employed the Format: 4/4 rhythm and verse structure followed by chorus, with the evolution gender, the proposal was notably diversified and that is why today it is quite difficult to exclude or include characteristics, since the rock universe really expanded remarkably, accepting issues that before, in the beginning, they were unthinkable.
Regarding the composition of the songs, that is, what they address, generally, we can find topics such as love, friendship and social political denunciation. This last issue has gained ground in recent decades and even more, there are rock groups especially identified with social denunciation through their lyrics, such as Molotov or Calle 13.
At first, rock was associated with the male universe, but of course, and like everything else, with the to run Over the years, it also managed to become a question of women, generating successful rock musical groups made up solely of them.
On the other hand, rock has also been the trigger for other musical genres: the jazz rock, country rock, blues rock, psychedelic rock, heavy metal, punk, alternative rock, garage rock, rap metal, among many others.
And it has also been the trigger of important social and cultural movements of the twentieth century, such is the case of the hippie, a movement clearly countercultural, pacifist and in favor of freedom, which was born in the USA in the sixties.
