Within the Spanish language, there is a broad classification of adjectives, which demonstrates the richness of the language. One of those types of adjectives are called positive adjectives. The purpose of this type of adjective is to highlight the quality that a noun has within the sentence.
It is understood then that the positive degree will be that type of adjective that highlights the quality of the noun without presenting the comparison between it with another. That is, the adjective itself will give the qualifying value by itself to the noun within the sentence itself.
One way in which this type of adjective of positive degree can be better understood is through the comparative strategy of two degrees of adjectives, then, we have the presence of adjectives comparative. In this case and as an example we have the following statement: "This house is newer than the 'other'".
Positive adjectives are also referred to when the adjective itself within the noun fulfills the function of giving a positive character value to its quality. That value will be given by the semantic context of the sentence itself, thus, we have, for example, the following case: “kind” refers to that which “has goodness”.
One of the elements that are very interesting in sentences is the context of the sentence itself, since this is what gives the adjective the positive degree. That is, within a certain scenario an adjective does not necessarily have to be inserted in a positive value, as in the following statement: “someone overly meticulous”, may not be something positive.
Another key element is also the tone that is given within the reading of the statement where, according to the modulation, it is will give particular focus to positive adjectives that could result as in the previous case, not necessarily of a value positive.
