Subject Core Modifiers Example

Sentences are made up of subject and predicate. In the subject we say who is being talked about, and in the predicate what he does or his state. In both parts there are one or more words that are central and that by themselves have meaning and can form the sentence. These words are called nuclei.
The subject coreis a noun or a pronoun that performs the action that is expressed in the predicate, that is, it is what it is talking about. For its part, the core of the predicate is the verb that describes the action or state that the subject performs. For example:
- “The dog black (subject) is not aggressive (predicate) ”: The core of the subject is the noun dog, who performs the action of the predicate.
Structure of the core of the subject
The core of the subject can be accompanied by other words that modify it and determine, to expand its meaning; these words are called modifiers.
The modifiers of the core of the subject are two:
- Determinants: they are articles and adjectives that determine the nucleus to indicate their gender, number, belonging, closeness, etc.
- Name complement: is a phrase that is attached to the noun to complement its meaning.
For example:
