The term magnetize allows to account for the communication of the magnetic property to a certain body.
Magnetization, magnetization or magnetizationare the names by which the process through which the magnetic dipole moments of a material align or will tend to do so is normally designated. Meanwhile, it is precisely this process that will allow us to transfer the magnetic quality of one body to another. Once the procedure is successful, the body that received the magnetic quality will immediately begin to magnetically attract others. objects, such as a magnet.
Meanwhile, themagnetismis a physical phenomenon that causes certain materials to exert so many forces of attraction as of repulsion on other materials. As we just mentioned, there are some materials that are already super known to us precisely because of have magnetic properties such is the case of nickel, iron, cobalt and the alloys that we popularly know as magnets. In any case, all materials can be influenced, to a greater or lesser extent, by the presence of a magnetic field.
The magnet it's a kind of mineral composed of a protoxide, which is the body that results from the union of oxygen with a simple radical or compound in the first degree of oxidation, and of a sesquioxide, it presents more than half of oxygen than the protoxide, of iron. The main property observed by the magnet is the attraction of metals, among which iron, cobalt and nickel stand out, a magnetic field proliferating around it. In the magnet we will find two opposing magnetic poles: the north and the south, determined by their orientation towards the ends of the earth.
It should be noted that when the north poles of two magnets come together they will repel, while the attraction will occur at the behest of the opposite poles.
The magnet may have the shape of a bar, the classic horseshoe, among the most frequent, although it can adopt any shape and tends to induce magnetization in the nails, which in turn will transform into small magnets.
The discipline that deals with the study of both magnets and their properties is known as magnetism.
