The one of epitaph It is a concept that is widely used since we use it to refer to that inscription, message that is placed in a tomb and that is destined to honor, honor the deceased person and whose remains rest there.
It is recurrent that there are people who, before they die, let their loved ones and relatives know what they would like it to be inscribed in his epitaph when they pass away, then in that case the deceased himself is the creator of his epitaph. Meanwhile, in other cases, the family or friends of a deceased person usually dedicate to the deceased some phrase or expression that in his life it was significant or describes it at some point, and is stamped in the epitaph.
There may then be epitaphs consisting of phrases from some Author admired, or consisting of the phrase or chorus of a song that the deceased loved.
Another common issue around the epitaphs is around the writers who are the ones who create their own epitaph.
Also the religion usually plays an important role at the behest of epitaphs since the sacred books of religions, such is the case of the Bible, the
Koran or the Talmud often lend phrases to the epitaphs of those very believing dead.On the other hand, aphorisms, which are those short sentences or statements that are proposed in science or the arts as principles or maxims, usually dominate in the universe of epitaphs.
Epitaphs are generally inscribed on a tombstone or plaque. The headstone is a very solid, flat stone, sculpted with a Format rectangular, in which the epitaph is precisely engraved.
Epitaphs are present in our culture since really remote times, the ancient Greeks, the civilization Roman, especially their emperors used them extensively to honor themselves and their most famous dead.
And this custom also reaches our days, that is, it did not disappear far from it, but it is still very common that in the tombstones of unknown people or of very prominent personalities are inscribed with very personal epitaphs to honor them after their death.
