There is a growing humanism around the concept of intelligence. Every human being has a talent inside. And this concept of multiple intelligence is equitable by giving the same value to any type of intelligence that the subject has.
Harvard University professor, the prestigious Howard Gardner specified that intelligence is not only that differentiated talent that every human being has in his essence, but, in addition, that seed of light that shows what is called to be a subject in its adult stage can be enhanced according to its own conditions intrinsic.
Types of intelligences
The eight best known intelligences are: musical characteristic of those people who excel in singing or music theory, linguistic-verbal that shows the talent that a person has in the field of communication, the logical-mathematical characteristic of people who have a great skill in order to reasoning numerical, the visuospatial characteristic of people who stand out for their analysis of the environment, corporeal-kinesthetic as a sample, for example, the case of those people who excel in an activity sporty like the
gymnastics, intrapersonal own that shows the value of self-knowledge, interpersonal Own of those people who have a great capacity to work in a team and naturalistic characteristic of those who have a deep love and sensitivity for nature. The discovery of multiple intelligences was a cultural and social enrichment since traditional intelligence tests only measure logical-mathematical ability and linguistics of the subject. In this way, if a person does not stand out in these areas, it does not mean that they do not have their own talent.
Intelligence in educational centers
Multiple intelligence starts from the premise that that talent that a human being has, can train, empower and cultivate it through education. On the other hand, it should also be pointed out that educational centers focus excessively on developing programs in which they emphasize the value of linguistic and mathematical intelligences. This implies having a reductionist vision of the capacities of the human being.
Multiple intelligence shows that talent is not one but diverse and varied.
Fortunately, in today's educational centers there is an increasing presence as well, the emotional intelligence which reflects the importance of integrating emotions as an ingredient of existential wisdom in decision-making. Throughout history, there has been a great preeminence of rational knowledge. Now the emotion is also stronger.
