The term stulticia comes from the Latin word stultitia and is equivalent to foolishness. Consequently, the adjective stultify or stupid means foolish or foolish. As for the term stupidity, it is generally used in a context of the language very formal and cultured, since in ordinary language some synonyms are used, such as stupidity, foolishness or foolishness.
In any case, when talking about stupidity, reference is usually made to a specific idea, human stupidity.
A characteristic of human beings
If we compare human beings with other animals, we generally see ourselves as "winners" because we are the species with more intelligence. Despite this, stupidity is a trait that no animal possesses and that is only part of the human condition.
What does stupidity refer to?
Stupidity - or stupidity - is any idea or behavior that is opposed to good judgment and good sense. A brief list of stupid things could be the following: making decisions contrary to our interests, believing that we are always right, judging others without knowing them,
think that misfortunes only happen to others or to be proud of one's own ignorance.Stupidity should not be understood as a lack of intelligence, since there are people with a great capacity intellectual who do all kinds of nonsense and people with low intelligence who are very prudent and sensible.
We could say that stupid things are gaps in the human intellect. These lagoons have a very diverse origin. On the one hand, our intellectual capacity is full of irrational elements, such as the presence of uncontrolled instincts or the attraction that we feel by ideas without any basis (for example, there are people who trust more in the cure of diseases through magic and not in the medicine). On the other hand, we must not forget that our mind is governed by two dimensions, the conscious and the unconscious and over this last sphere we have no type of control.
Finally, human stupidity is related to the lack of emotional intelligence. Some of the symptoms that express poor intelligence emotional are the following: inability to recognize the error, hold a grudge permanently, believe that they are misunderstood, constantly talk about oneself or not control the emotions personal.
