The swastika It is one of the most widespread symbols in the world and that is why its image, representation, is easily recognizable in any culture and part of the planet.
It is basically a cross but what differs from this symbol so popular of the religion Christian in that all four arms are bent at right angles.
Although it is a symbol that almost excluding is linked and associated with theNazism, the political regime that he led Adolf Hitler in Germany between 1933 and 1945 and that he proposed it as a distinctive sign on flags, soldiers' suits, among others, it is worth mentioning that the history of the swastika is certainly millennial since the ancient Aryan people who inhabited Central Asia thousands of years ago he would have used it as a symbol of the sun, to mark his displacement in the sky.
Now, the use of the swastika by the Nazis was not something accidental but is linked to that relationship that the symbol had in the past with the Aryan people of whom Nazism was believed inheritor. Let us remember that Hitler maintained that
civilization Aryan was a superior race with respect to the rest and whose mission was to rule the entire world.Unfortunately, in the name of that belief It is fallacious that this regime set up a tremendous system of persecution and punishment of all those it considered inferior beings, among them and especially the Jewish people against whom he was obsessed with destroying and making disappear.
Paradoxically, if we stick to the reference literal of its denomination that has its origin in Sanskrit, svastika, refers well-being, good fortune.
And in communion with this sense is that the concept has also been adopted by beliefs linked to these proposals such as Buddhism, Hinduism, among others.
As a consequence, both in those years of terror in which the Nazi occupation caused terror and thousands of tragedies in Europe, and today, the Swastika is eminently related to Nazism and went down in history as one of the Nazi emblems par excellence, then, its only image back to violence and it is difficult to link it with issues such as those of well-being or harmony.
