The word Excellent is a term that we use widely in our language when we want to express that something or someone turns out to be great or magnificent in terms of quality that they present or to the esteem they wake up.
In other words, we can apply the word in relation to things that stand out for their superiority, for example: The fabric of the dress is of excellent quality. Or use it when we talk about individuals... MarĂa is an excellent friend, you can always count on her when you need it.
It should be noted that this term is closely linked to another, that of excellence, which is used precisely to account for the quality of excellent. When we talk about the excellence of something or someone, it is because they stand out in terms of their quality, superiority, and that is why they are objects of an esteem and of a assessment high and also stand out from the average.
Therefore, we can say that both concepts, excellence and excellent, are associated and close to the idea of
perfection, given that on the one hand they stand out from their group or their peers and on the other hand they do not show weaknesses that precisely affect that perfection that they display. When someone demonstrates a skill or a different capacity, beyond the ordinary, and difficult to overcome by the rest, it will be said that in this or that activity presents a performance of excellence.
While if we apply the concept to things and objects we will be indicating the enormous quality or innovation presented by one of them.
There are many synonyms that can be used instead of this term, such is the case of: magnificent and generous, meanwhile, the word that opposes is that of appalling, which refers to that which is very bad.
