Example of Active Sentences

The active prayer, also called active voice prayer, are the sentences in which the predicate expresses the actions performed by the subject.

In this type of sentence, the verbal modes that indicate the action carried out by the subject are always used, whether in the past, present or future tense, as well as their compound tenses:

Joseph buys food.
The dog drank.
Antonio will approve.
My father he has won a lot of money.

When they arrive, will have completed his trip around the world.

The active sentence also exists even if the subject is not written, that is, in the case of sentences with a morphological subject, in which the conjugation and the form of the verb make it clear if it speaks of the first, second or third person, singular or plural, so even if it is not there, you can deduce the pronoun that would be the subject:

I have dream = Me I have dream
We arrived afternoon = U.Swe arrived late
¿Are tired? = ¿You're tired?

To avoid confusing active sentences with passive sentences, we have to take into account who performs and about what or who falls on the action of the verb, since many times the direct object occupies the place of the subject in sentences passive.

So for example, in the sentence:

José buys food

The buy action is carried out by the subject: José, and the action falls on the direct object: Food. If instead we have the sentence in the following form:

The food is bought by José

We can see that now the subject is the food, however, the action continues to be performed by José, and the subject, in this sentence, the food, receives the action from the verbal nucleus "is bought." This type of sentence is called passive voice or passive sentence, since it is the subject who receives the action of the verb, and not who performs it.
