The word former It is widely used in our language preceding other words, normally: charges, physical characteristics, moral qualities, roles, among others, attributed to people, to precisely indicate that they are already available to us more for x reason or circumstance.
Let's look at examples to better understand the meaning of the term... Carlos Menem was president of the Republic Argentina between 1989 and 1998 and by case is that during all that time he was appointed as President of the Nation Argentina as a consequence of the position that he held, since 1998 and to date, when he mentions Carlos Menem he is indicated as former president of the nation since he no longer deploys the position.
And the same goes for countless other charges that someone may have held at some point but that since he does not do it because he has resigned, because his mandate has expired, because he was fired, among others Causes.
Now, but not only associated with positions that are no longer displayed, this word is used, it is also used a lot in our
language everyday to designate those roles that a person knew how to unfold at some point but no longer does so and then that makes them ex. Among the most recurrent, ex friend, ex confidant, ex boss, former co-worker, former student, among others with which we can run into.A paragraph apart, due to the tremendous extension in use, it is worth using the term at hand to refer to that individual who knew how to be the sentimental partner of another, girlfriend / or, spouse, and that it is no longer so because they actually separated or decided to divorce, putting an end to the relationship that united them.
Undoubtedly it is very popular that in our language people speak in terms of ex-boyfriend, ex-husband, to refer to those people who were at some point sentimental partners.
Furthermore, the word ex is so associated with this sense that we hardly feel it when we name it, we immediately think of someone who was a partner of another.
