Charles Robert Darwin was one of the most notable scientists and naturalists in history, of English origin, Darwin, would shake the world of science in the nineteenth century with his theory of natural selection that postulated that all living species on the planet earth have managed to evolve through time and from a shared ancestor, by a process called precisely as selection natural. So it is that natural selection was Darwin's great proposal when it came to giving an explanation about the evolution biological.
According to Darwin's work, natural selection constitutes an evolutionary phenomenon that has a character of law general and consisting of the reproduction differential genetic information (in the form of DNA) of a biological community. Meanwhile, natural selection provides that the conditions present in a given natural environment will help, or otherwise complicate, the reproduction of animals. organisms.
Now, Darwin, enunciated the necessity of the existence of three conditions: the trait or characteristic subject to the selection must be plausible of
inheritance; there must be trait variability among beings of a population; and that variability should give way to differences in terms of survival or reproductive success, generating this that some new characteristics can spread in the population. Meanwhile, the accumulation of all the modifications through the generations is what will produce the phenomenon of evolution. In the work written by Darwin and entitled The origin of species, which was published in the year 1859, is firmly established that which we exposed lines above regarding whether there are variations in the reproduction of organisms and whether the environment does not accept the organisms of a developing population, those that have little characteristics adapted will tend to die, while those with good adaptive characteristics are sure to they will survive.
The repetition over time of the scheme indicated by Darwin consists in the evolution of species.
