The chronicle is a journalistic genre that is part of the interpretive genres since in it, the author or journalist gives his points of view. Despite being an interpretive journalistic genre, the chronicle also uses informational genres such as the news, because throughout the chronicle, in addition to telling his perception of the facts, the journalist provides many data and information.
One of the main characteristics of the chronicle is that it gives very detailed information about what happened in an event, for For example, it informs the reader about the time an event began, and continues to give sequential information about what it happens. With the chronicle, the reader can practically feel that he was present at the narrated event, since the journalist even gives information about how the environment, the weather, etc. felt.
There are 5 different types of chronic:
- Chronicle of events
- Political Chronicle
- Society Chronicle
- Travel Chronicle
- Sports chronicle
The sports chronicle, as its name indicates, is the one that
narrates in a very detailed way what happens in a sporting event like a game of soccer, tennis, baseball, and even some championship of any of these and other sports.Example of a sports report for a football match:
It was 10:00 in the morning and the stadium gates were already full. You could feel the passion of the fans waiting for their favorite team. After a few hours, at 12:00 noon the sun began to shine more strongly, the heat did not wait. Despite this, the enthusiasm of the attendees did not diminish, some began to buy bottles of ice water and even wet each other to cool off and also for fun.
At 4:00 in the afternoon they opened the doors. The passion of the people let go, they all wanted to find the best place where they could enjoy that soccer game that they had been waiting for so long.
At 6:00 pm the first half began. The whistle sounded and the passionate cries of the fans did not wait. The waves made by everyone. The whistles. The excitement jumps every time his team was close to scoring the long-awaited goal.
Minute 24 of the first half. The board was 0-0, both teams were doing their best to gain the advantage, it had not happened yet.
Five minutes later! The visiting team committed a foul and a penalty was awarded to the home team. The fans are waiting, you can breathe the stress and emotion that reigned in that stadium. José Hernández, the home team's top scorer, was chosen to launch that shot. Gets ready. It concentrates. Take some time to breathe deeply. It is placed. Throw, and… score! The score was now in favor of the home team. The screams, applause and jumps of the fans did not wait. The joy and passion was contagious, it was breathed every second. The first half ended like this, with a 1-0 score that made everyone's heart beat strongly.
Half time was full of celebrations, talks, shouts, songs... Until the first second of that second half arrived. The whistle blew and all the souls united in favor of his team came together to, in some way, support that second goal to fall.
The 23rd minute arrived, half of the second half and nothing happened, everything remained the same. The fans were excited every time the opposing team approached their goal, but the goal did not come. Thus, the 45th minute arrived, the whistle sounded and the score was 1-0, the home team's fans celebrated.
