The tiger is a mammal carnivorous that belongs to the subfamily of the panterinos, which in turn are part of the gender panthera. It has a remarkable bearing since it measures approximately 1.80 m., Not counting its tail, which usually reaches one meter in length.
By case it is considered the largest feline on the planet. Its yellow color with black stripes, both on its back and tail, and its white belly, is undoubtedly its most distinctive physical feature.
As is often the case with Panthers, the tiger is an animal that has an important force muscular, great speed and a huge fitness for the jump.
The tiger likes to live rather in solitude and stands out as a good feline for its territoriality, that is, for defending this condition. It can live in forests but also in more open areas such as savannas, and its main food is smaller animals such as the species called ungulate.
Females tend to be smaller than males and with regard to territory that cover the males monopolize greater extensions in relation to the females.
Another distinctive characteristic that derives from its feline condition is its ability to appreciate certain colors. Their vision at night also turns out to be very sharp thanks to the specular membrane they have on their retina.
Like other felines like the jaguar, the lion, the leopard, the tiger can roar, while this particular sound that causes panic to humans, can refer communication with other peers, proclamation of territory or the competence by a female.
It is also good in water and this allows it to dive into it to search for prey.
There are six subspecies of the tiger: South China tiger, Amur tiger, Sumatran tiger, Malay tiger, Indochinese tiger and Bengal tiger, which turns out to be the most numerous type given that this subspecies constitutes 80% of the tigers that inhabit the world.
It should be noted that the tiger is a species in danger of extinction and mostly currently live in captivity.
In the India and Bangladesh the tiger has enormous national regard and is considered the national animal.
