It is a peculiar geometric figure from which it is possible to have an idea of what the fourth could be dimension, therefore it is necessary to disassemble it to understand it.
The dimensions that we know are based on three basic pieces of information: width, height and depth. At a primary level, a single point is what constitutes dimension 0, since it is something that does not move in any direction and does not have a size either.
If we add an address to the point and form a line, we already get something in dimension 1.
If we add a new perpendicular spatial direction to the line, we obtain a picture in two dimensions (at this level it is already possible to form geometric figures flat).
If we again incorporate another spatial direction that is perpendicular to the previous two, we can form something in three dimensions, such as a cube.
Finally, if a fourth perpendicular direction is added to the three realities described, something new is created: a four-dimensional cube. This cube is precisely the tesseract, also known as a hypercube.
A cube is a figure with three dimensions: width, height, and depth. When thinking of a hypercube we have to incorporate a fourth direction, which produces a four-dimensional structure
In other words, the different cubic spaces of the hypercube are totally equal and of identical size. From a perspective visual, this figure appears as if it were a cube surrounded by different pyramids.
Although the tesseract does not change shape, we see it in one way or another according to our point of view as observers.
The tesseract would have the following characteristics: a figure with 16 vertices, 32 edges, 24 squares, and 8 cubes. It is something that does not exist in reality, but the mind human is capable of conceiving such an image. Thus, a hypercube or tesseract is a geometric figure formed by two three-dimensional cubes displaced on a fourth dimensional axis.
Thanks to this figure we have an approximate geometric explanation of what a fourth dimension could represent.
The hypercube in the Marvel universe
Characters like Captain appear in these comic stories America or Thor. In these stories the word tesseract is mentioned and with it refers to a cosmic cube. This figure inhabits an imaginary world known as Asgard, which actually refers to the place where Odin, the god of life, lives. mythology Nordic.
In the Marvel comics he is seen as a cube-shaped infinity gem with a power that cannot be compared to any other.
In other words, in this gem the mysteries of the universe are stored and whoever owns it can govern all the galaxies.
Although comics are fictional stories, references to the tesseract are interpreted by some to be related to certain mysteries of the universe: higher forms of conscience, the enigmas of the intelligence collective or strange hidden powers.
