We understand that tunnel building whose main objective is to communicate two extremes that, otherwise, would be kept separate. The tunnel thus allows passage through closed spaces that are generally underground. One of the main characteristics of all tunnels is that they have a roof and that the only ventilation is the that is maintained in both points, there being no possibility of exit or crossing of the same outside these two points from communication.
Tunnels are mostly artificial constructions that humans design and execute with the sole purpose of passing from one side to the other when two points are closed or covered in matter. There are two types of spaces in which tunnels are usually built: natural spaces (mountains, mountains, canyons) in which the tunnel can be made both for the passage of human beings and for the step of Water, from Energy or materials of various kinds; and urban spaces in which underground tunnels serve to energize the transport public (either in the case of subways or tunnels for regular vehicles).
The investment of time, capital and force human resources for the construction of tunnels is usually very important since tunnels are some of the constructions more complex that human beings can perform (being completely artificial and therefore requiring certain features from safety). In general, tunnels are made by blasting or exploding the spaces to be emptied, by drilling and by excavation. According to the type of tunnel to be built, there will be different more useful methods for obtaining specific results. In some cases the tunnels can be abandoned, especially when they are built with specific and punctual objectives, as is the case of the extraction from natural resources.
