The learning it is a process of acquiring knowledge. People are constantly learning, processing and assimilating information.
In individual development, the school stage has a singular relevance, since children and young people acquire knowledge and skills to have a useful training in their life as an adult. An educational model is an organizational system through which educational practice is ordered and oriented.
When teaching became generalized and compulsory, the science of science education they had not achieved a systematization and the teaching methods were intuitive. The teacher or teacher communicated knowledge to the students, and they had to repeat it and memorize it. In popular language a saying very common: the blood letter enters. The idea consisted of imposing knowledge, handling data and everything in a weather from discipline ironclad.
Over time, education was incorporating new methods and the notion of plan to order education was introduced. An organizational set was imposed at all levels: division by courses, subjects, exams, techniques and regulations. All of this forms an educational model.
Each country has its own system. In general terms, the mechanism of educational models would be, roughly, the following:
1. Establish general principles that should govern education (civic values, attitudes, academic objectives... ).
2. Order a system so that each of its parts makes sense and there is a coherent project: methodology, administrative processes, study techniques, evaluations, school organization, etc.
3. Define strategies to promote and value the different educational stages: inspection, teacher training, levels of quality, etc.
These three elements are the scheme basic of an educational model. Each model affects a specific aspect. There are models that encourage critical knowledge, others promote ethical values and there are approaches, most of them, that combine different approaches.
Educational models are organizational systems that function within a society and there is a relationship of reciprocity between them: the educational model influences society and its values and tendencies determine the model.
