The term wall is used to refer to those fortifications built for purely defensive purposes that seek to prevent the passage or the military attack. The wall is, in other words, similar to a wall but much firmer, taller and thicker so that it can truly cope with any onslaught. Although today the walls are not features Of the architectural constructions, they were in other times in history when military advances were much more common.

The wall is one of the most impressive and dazzling human constructions that can be mentioned. This has to do more than anything with his greatness and his imposing picture. The walls thus fulfilled a main role that was to provide protection and safety to those constructions that will be found within its perimeter. However, they could also be built to geographically delimit a territory or for decorative purposes, although the latter case was not the most common.

Depending on each case, the thickness, height and extension of the wall could vary significantly. Normally, the wall covers a closed perimeter to prevent passage. If it was the protection of a castle, a citadel or a kingdom, the wall could then be small, medium or very large. At the same time, the walls used to be built with posts of

observation that served to maintain a more effective control over the territory. They could also be surrounded on the outside or inside with moats and drawbridges to make the passage even more difficult for invaders.

Logically, one of the most famous and fabulous walls is the Chinese Wall since, due to its extension, it is said that it can be observed from the Moon. The sections of walls built by the Roman empire still standing and other walls such as the one in Berlin or the one currently erected in the border between Mexico and USA they are without doubt some of the most important examples.
