The adjectives are words used to modify the noun and, therefore, they agree with him on gender and number. For example: Yuxtaposed.
The Y can have a consonant or vowel value. The consonant value is given when the letter Y appears before a vowel, and in this case it is pronounced as the voiced palatal phoneme / y /. For example: Yacente, Yanqui.
On the other hand, when it acquires vowel value, it is the anterior palatal phoneme / i /, and this happens in words in which the Y appears in the final position. For example: UmbrellaY, hoY, reY.
The Y is always used after prefixes ad-, des-, dis- and sub- (for example: subYacente, adYacente) and in words that contain the syllable -yec- (for example: inYectable, eYectable).
