Lexical Vagueness
Is named lexical vagueness to any inaccurate or imprecise terminology within a text or statement. It is presented as imprecise language, that is, the text lacks sufficient information to clarify certain concepts.
Lexical vagueness is often generated in texts where context information is missing, since this is necessary to establish additional data that anchors the reader in a certain situation. By lacking contextual data, the chances of generating lexical vagueness increase.
There are cases in which the same words always contain lexical vagueness, regardless of their context. For example, certain adjectives like rich, poor, a lot, a little or too much are words that do not correspond to an objective parameter.
The opposite of lexical vagueness is clarity and precision.
Lexical ambiguity
The ambiguity Lexical occurs when a word or a set of words has a plurality of meanings and the context does not provide sufficient clarity. This plurality is known as polysemy.
