The homograph words They are words that are spelled the same but have different meanings. For example: wine (of drink) and wine (to come), River (of water) and River (of laughing).
As they can create ambiguity, it is necessary to place them in context to know which of their definitions is being used. Dictionaries include all the meanings of homograph words.
Also known as polysemic, these words are spelled exactly the same, not like the homophones, which sound the same, but are spelled differently (eg flick and flick; there, oh and there or go and go).
