Yes / no questions in English
The "yes / no questions" are questions that only accept "yes" or "no" answers.
The opposite is the wh- questions, that is, those questions that begin with adverbs and interrogative pronouns: who, how, what, when, etc. Wh- questions (also called “informational questions”) require more information and cannot be answered with just “yes” or “no”.
Example:
- Yes / no question: Did you meet John today? / Did you meet John today?
