Queísmo
The queísmo is a vice of language that consists in the suppression of the preposition "Of" (and sometimes, "in") in front of the conjunction "That" when in reality it should be to come required by a verbal construction. For example: I'm sure they will call me. (queísmo) lo correct is: I'm sure from that they will call me.
A simple and very practical way to establish whether or not a preposition should be written before “what” is by formulating the same idea but as interrogative statement. If we note that the question must be headed by a preposition in order not to be ungrammatical, then that same preposition must also exist in the common enunciative form. Otherwise, the omission of the preposition will be correct. For example: ¿From what am i sure I'm sure from that they will call me.
Remember that the preposition "of" must be written before "that" when they are used pronominal verbs that require the so-called complement of the regime, as happens with “remembering” or “repenting de ”, but it should also not be omitted in front of non-pronominal verbs such as“ convince de ”or“ insistir on". There are also certain
idioms verbal, certain nouns and certain adjectives that always carry a prepositional complement. In front of certain verbs (such as warn, doubt, inform, etc.), the presence or absence of the preposition can lead to differences of meaning, so that the absence of a preposition should not necessarily be taken as a form wrong.
The other side of queísmo is dequeism, which is the vice of incorrectly placing the preposition “of” before “that”. For example: They told me you moved out. (the correct is: They told me you moved)
