The nouns They are nouns naming a particular individual or entity. They are names, surnames, brands, countries, cities and they are always capitalized. For example: Andrea, Nemo.
The common nouns They are nouns that name things, places, people, animals, or ideas but in a general way, and are written with a lower case. For example: horse, elephant, goose.
Animals can be named with proper nouns (or own names), if it is the name of a particular animal, or with common nouns, if it is an animal in general. For example: My dog Stains. (“Dog” is a common noun and “Manchas” is a proper noun)
