The hiatus occurs when the accentuation of a word forces to separate into different syllables a diphthong or a triphthong. For example: rto–íz, dí–to, zor–orlogical.
There is hiatus in the following cases:
The "h" between vowels
When the H is between two vowels, it does not interfere with hiatus formation. That is, the word will be divided in the same way and the letter H will always remain attached to the second vowel. For example: al-cor–hol.
