The compound conditional is a verb tense that is used to express actions that have already occurred, hypothetical situations that did not occur, or past wishes that were impossible to fulfill. For example: If yesterday it had been hot Would have gone to the club with the kids.
The compound conditional conforms to the conditional of the verb to have + the participle from the main verb:
