Characteristics of Magic Realism

Magical realism can be understood as a literary tool that emerged in the 20th century, especially between the 40s and 60s, in where they wanted to establish the little logical and mystical as something common and ordinary, which can influence the daily life of the individual.
There are several characteristics of magic realism that can be stated and serve to clearly understand its origin and objective.
Main features of magic realism:
Source.- It was the German Franz Roh, who gave him his name in the 20's, and he established himself directly in contemporary literature. It was later in the decade of the 40s when it was established as a contemporary branch of literature, and it was established in the novels of the time.
Superstition.- This is one of the tools that distinguishes magical realism, as this literature was fed by previous myths and stories that were coupled to the time.
Writing.- The way to express this cultural sense is through writing, where it was applied exclusively in the novel.
Mysticism.- It is a busy tool to express the ideas and characters of the stories described as well as the attitude of its characters and their objective in the novel.
Marginalization.- Marginalization was an essential part, since the characters develop in this field of society that due to their situation is more likely to believe in mystical issues.
