Comunication elements

The communication it is the process through which information is exchanged. In order for it to take place, the following elements intervene: sender, receiver, channel, code, context, message, noise, feedback.

Each one has a role and contributes a certain value within the process. According to the circumstance, an element can help to improve or distort the communication process.

1. Communicative situation 1

Transmitter: A person who sends an email.
Receiver: The person who receives an email and reads it.
Message: The reason for the email: technical inquiry about an administrative report.
Code: The written Spanish language.
Channel: Internet.
Noise: The sender uses a term that is not known to the receiver (semantic noise)
Feedback: The reply to the received email.
Context: A virtual employment relationship.

Transmitter: The president giving a press conference.
Receiver: The viewers.
Message: The announcement of new economic measures.
Code: The Spanish language expressed orally.
Channel: TV.
Noise: Viewers don't believe the president's promises (psychological noise).
Feedback: Citizens call a demonstration against the measures.
Context: A country in economic crisis.

Transmitter: A person calling another on the phone.
Receiver: The person who answers a phone call.
Message: The reason for the call: to greet the recipient on his birthday.
Code: The Spanish language expressed orally.
Channel: The phone.
Noise: The receiver has hearing problems (physiological noise).
Feedback: The recipient appreciates the greeting.
Context: The home of the sender and receiver.
