The verbal predicate expresses a process, action or state that affects the subject. It is identified because its core is a conjugated verb. For example: Juan ate a cake.
Within a sentence, the predicate It is the structure that includes the action carried out by the subject. Although the verbal predicate (that which contains a verb) is the most frequent, there is also the non-verbal predicate, which lacks a conjugated verb.
The predicate of each sentence is marked in bold.
