Example of Adjectives in English

The adjectives in English they are equivalent to the existing ones in Spanish. They usually come before the noun.
For example:
- Beautiful women
- An interesting book.
There is no rule as such but generally adjectives monosyllables, those accented in the last syllable and the odd two-syllable, easily pronounced, form the superlative and the comparative of increase, this adding the endings -erY -its T. The rest of the adjectives are preceded by most Y more. Only those that end in and mute is added -r Y -st. The ones that end in -Y they change to -i and doubles the consonant adjectives ending in a consonant preceded by a vowel.
There's also possessive adjectives, which fulfill the same function as in Spanish, indicate that an object belongs to someone. In English there are three forms of possessive, in the third person singular, according to whether it refers to the masculine, feminine or neuter gender:
- My / my
- You / your
- La de ella (de el) / his
- De ella la de ella (de ella) / her
- De ella la de ella (neutral) / its
- Our / our
- His (theirs) / their
- His (yours) / your
The demonstrative adjectives indicate the place of a thing in relation to the speaker:
- That, that, that / that
- That, that, that / that
- This, this, this / This
- These, these / Those
The adjectives, called in English descriptive (descriptive adjectives) indicate a characteristics of the subject of whom it is spoken:
- Brown eyes
- Big girl
- Beauty lady
- Fast car
- Smart man
The quantitative adjectives They can be ordinal or cardinal, and modify the noun, indicating quantity:
Cardinals:
- One hundred years
- Three houses
- One thousand people
- Two hundred and forty three dollars.
- Twice a week (twice means twice)
Ordinals
- Third day
- Fourth red car
- My first love
- This is the ninth book I read This Week
- This is the sixtieth time I say you No.
