Epitaphs
The epitaph It is a short text that is made in honor of a person who has passed away. Some epitaphs are epigrams, a lyrical subgenre that is a short, witty phrase or poem.
Other epitaphs can be elegies, which are lyrical compositions that express a lament or a painful situation. However, there are epitaphs that are only short sentences.
Epitaphs originated in Ancient Greece and were verses that were recited to honor the deceased. At present, these short texts are on the tombstones.
