Explanatory paragraphs
The explanatory paragraphs are those paragraphs in which ideas are presented that serve so that the reader can better understand the subject of a text. These paragraphs are used in explanatory texts, scientists or journalistic.
A paragraph is a unit of a text that is made up of one or more sentences, beginning with a capital letter and ending with a new paragraph. The texts are organized in such a way that each paragraph deals with a central idea. Generally, the first sentence of each paragraph tends to make explicit what the topic to be developed is.
These paragraphs explain in detail and clearly what a process is like, how it was a fact, what an object, a place, etc. is like. To carry out this explanation, additional information, causes, consequences, descriptions, examples or reformulations are included.
These paragraphs generally consist of two parts:
Examples of explanatory paragraphs
- Mammals are animals that differ from others by possessing certain characteristics. These animals feed and care for their young, adapt to different places and learn new things very quickly. They are warm-blooded, have pulmonary respiration, are vertebrates and are usually viviparous (most of them). In addition, all these animals descend from the same ancestor. Some examples of mammals are humans, monkeys, and whales.
- The parliamentary republic is a system of government that differs from the presidential republic. In parliamentary democracy, the head of state is elected by parliament and does not have executive powers. The prime minister is the one who possesses those powers. On the other hand, in the presidential republic, the head of state is elected by the citizens and is the one who has executive powers.
- Jury trials are those trials in which citizens participate. Although citizens do not determine the penalty (because it is determined by the judge), they do determine whether an event took place and whether a person is guilty or innocent. The rationale for the need for this type of trial is for a person to be judged by their peers, who are those who make up the jury. However, there is no consensus in the judicial sphere on the effectiveness of this type of trial.
- Human beings are and always were social beings. A social being is defined because he needs others to exist, because he needs other members of his species to survive and because he has the need to be part of a society. In different disciplines, such as history, anthropology, archeology and philosophy, the theory is held that People have always organized in a social way and have created institutions that made it possible to organize the functioning of the society.
- Many animals communicate in various ways but, with the exception of humans, bees are the only animals that can communicate a message with deferred information. This type of message assumes that the information that is transmitted is not directly related to the environment, that is, that the indication or the message is not related to the next space. Bees can communicate in this way, because they perform movements together (they are called "the bee dance") that are used to communicate the distance and direction of the supply source, that is, they indicate how the path is to get to a place that cannot be perceived in the environment next.
- Figures of speech are used in literature, but also in everyday language, both orally and in writing. In speeches, conversations, written messages, letters, jokes and word games it is very common to find metaphors, hyperbole, ellipsis, repetitions, metonymies and analogies. This happens because people use language in such a way that a topic can be emphasized or to make a message more striking or interesting.
- Globalization means that different parts of the world are politically, economically, socially and culturally connected. Economic globalization is that more and more countries can exchange goods, services, products and capital. Political globalization means that different leaders generate agreements that concern more than one country. Social globalization is the communication that is established between people, institutions and organizations from different parts of the world. Cultural globalization means that cultural products can be consumed in regions far removed from the region of origin of these products.
- Biology is a science that studies the forms of life and their behavior. This science studies animals, plants, fungi, eukaryotes, bacteria, and archaea. Regarding behavior, it studies the feeding, growth and reproduction of living beings. In addition, biology investigates the origin, evolution and history of all species.
- The digestive system is the system of the human body that produces the assimilation of organic matter from food. Food enters the body through the mouth, then travels down the esophagus to reach the stomach, where the bolus disintegrates. Finally, in the intestine the absorption of nutrients takes place and the organic matter that is not necessary for the body is eliminated.
- The oligopoly is an economic market situation in which a group of companies or producers dominate the commercial transactions of products. This happens because those companies and those producers have a lot of power and do not allow other companies and other producers to enter the market. This situation differs from monopoly, because in a monopoly it is a single company that dominates the entire market of a region or a country.
