Narrative paragraphs
The narrative paragraphs are those paragraphs that count a succession of events or actions chronologically. They are usually in different Narrative texts, What stories, novels, legends, myths, Chronicles, biographies and news.
A paragraph is a unit of a text that is made up of one or more sentences, beginning with a capital letter and ending with a new paragraph. The texts are organized in such a way that each paragraph deals with a central idea.
These paragraphs tell real or invented stories or stories, because they narrate actions or events sequentially in the first, second or third person. To join these events are used temporary connectors (for instance, first, later, finally) or punctuation marks (for instance, comma, semicolon and period and followed).
In addition, these paragraphs include other types of information, such as descriptions of people, objects, places and feelings and it is common that they contain dialogues and monologues.
Examples of narrative paragraphs
- Maria was sleeping very peacefully until she was awakened by a noise. She opened her eyes and got out of bed to see what had woken her up, but she was alone and couldn't think what might have caused the noise. She suddenly, she remembered that she had left the living room window open. She went to the living room, closed it, and went back to bed to sleep.
- The events occurred at dawn on Saturday: a tremor was felt throughout the city that was caused by a mild earthquake. According to official reports there were no accidents, no one was injured and there was no collapse. Many people say that they woke up because of the earthquake, but they were not scared, because it did not last long.
- Albert Einstein, the famous physicist, was born on March 14, 1879 in Ulm, Germany, where he spent the first year of his life. In 1880 he moved with his parents to Munich, where he lived for fourteen years. In 1888 he began attending the Luitpold school, where he demonstrated great abilities for the natural sciences. Jacob Einstein, his uncle, was a very important figure in his youth, because together they carried out many experiments in the workshop-laboratory that was in Albert's house.
- When Jimena arrived at the station, he heard an announcement over the loudspeakers that the service was interrupted. She took a deep breath and sat down on a bench to decide how he would get back to her home. At that moment she remembered that Sergio, her best friend, had a car and that she could call him to come find her. She got up from the bench and went to the station bar, where she asked to borrow the phone to call her friend.
- The president arrived at the government house, where he announced the measures that are already known to the entire population. After this announcement, she spent two hours answering questions from journalists, because he believes that it is important to clarify all doubts regarding changes in the direction of the government.

Eight years later, in 1952, he published his first storybook, Some stories, which was very well received by critics. In 1977, shortly before his death, he published The hour of the star, a novel that is considered by critics as one of her best books and as one of the best books in Latin American literature.
- The dog entered the house, began to bark, and woke up all the family members. They got up, because it was not common for the dog to bark like that. The owner of the cafe, seeing the man like that, approached him and asked if she could help him with something. The man replied that they would pick him up there soon and take him to his house, but that he could use some toast and hot coffee. The owner told her that he would bring them to her right away.
