In both English and Spanish we use the same calendar. The main difference is that in each language we pronounce the name of the month differently, although in both they have the same origin.
The names of the months that we currently use have their origin in Rome, where the calendar consisted of 10 months. Some time later, two months were added to the middle of the calendar, dedicated to two emperors. These are the names of the months in English and origin:
Now, in terms of spelling, in English the names of the months, as well as the days of the week, are proper names and are always written with a capital initial.
