    Intensive Suffixes Example

    They are understood as suffixes to some additions made to the words, they are added to the root or lexeme of the word.

    But you have to first know how many types of suffixes exist and of which are intensive.

    The suffixes are Diminutive, augmentative, derogatory, familiar, of origin, of community and place.

    Of these are intensive suffixes only diminutives, augmentatives and derogatory ones.

    Example of intensive suffixes:

    Diminutives.- These suffixes reflect the decrease or intention to belittle something.

    • ete, eta: mosalvete guapete, guapeta morisqueta
    • illo, illa: chiquillo, chamaquillo, chiquillo chamaquilla.
    • ito, ita: little town, little grandfather room, little door, little bucket, grandmother.
    • uelo, uela: tontuelo, espejuelo, tontuela.

    Augmentatives.- In direct opposition to diminutives, these suffixes increase the concept or intention of the suffixes.

    • azo, aza: hottie, hottie, hottie, bonanza.
    • on, ona: big, mocking, big head, big, mocking, eating, big head.
    • ote, ota: big, black, white, big, pig, cow.

    Contemptuous.- These suffixes express the opposite intention or dislike of something or someone.

    • garlic, aha: little bitch, bitch, damn, little bitch, damn, bitch.
    • ejo, eja: pillejo, tipejo, calleja, tipeja.
    • acho: rich, gacho.
    • ato: blind.
    • orrio: villorio
    • ucho, ucha: ugly, feucha, gatucho, gatucha.
    • astro: poetstro.
    • ica: acoustic
    • gold: secorro.
    • zuelo, zuela: kinglet, whore.
