Verbs ending in -ar are verbs in infinitive, for example verbs love, study or change. The infinitive is one of the non-personal forms of the verb, that is, they are unconjugated verbs that do not change their form to refer to any of the grammatical persons. The other two endings of the infinitive are -er and -ir, for instance fear, be, laugh, live.
Verbs ending in -ar name the verbal action abstractly and they can have different syntactic functions within the sentence, for example:
