Understood as one of the most basic and main elements of the design urban planning, the street is a public space that aims to generate a more or less organized division between the different private properties, as well as allowing passage and mobility throughout the city or space urban. Usually the street has a provision straight, although depending on the type of trace or style, it may become more or less messy, curved, or irregular. The street was traditionally established from a minimum demarcation that would signify the end of the building structures in a certain width.
Although since the creation of the first villages there has always been a public space naturally arranged for the transfer of a place to Another, it was not until the appearance of the Romans that the urban organization began to develop in a more conscious and structured. The planning Roman urban street put the streets in the center of attention since they began to establish common spaces for the
movement of all citizens clearly differentiated from buildings, becoming appropriate spaces for the passage of human beings, carts and other mobiles. In general, at this time they were cobbled streets and organized through ordered and linear lines. In the present, the different cities of the world have urban traces in which the streets can really become complex, wonderful spaces in which not only cars pass but places that combine infinite elements urban planning. When streets gain space in terms of width, they cease to be such to become avenues, while which can also be shortened and become passages or transformed into highways or routes depending on the place.
Today, due to the significant number of vehicles that travel on the street, the establishment of clear traffic rules common to all members is of essential importance for the well-being of all inhabitants.
