Funeral home is understood to be those establishments that are responsible for carrying out the funeral of a person according to the traditions of that country or region. Funeral homes are also usually in charge of fixing the body of the deceased for display, as well as fixing the details related to the cremation or inhumation of the same according to the preference of the deceased or his relatives.
Funeral homes are spaces dedicated exclusively to performing all those services that have to do with the treatment of the deceased and the ceremonies that family and friends wish to perform to honor them. Funeral homes usually have different types of rooms in which the loved ones of the deceased gather to say goodbye and honor them before they are buried or cremated. The characteristics of each funeral vary from society to society and while for some cultures (the majority, in the West) the funeral is a moment of extreme sadness and sobriety both in the tribute and in the
clothing and in the behavior of people, for other cultures the funeral is nothing more than a moment of joy and of celebration for the passage of that person to a better world, the hereafter. Many funeral homes today have the custom of having a variety of items and products for the relatives or loved ones of the deceased to choose and thus can put together a personalized celebration: drawers of different woods and materials, flower arrangements, candles, even some may also consider the catering and the participation of some religious or professional in charge of such services. Some funeral homes may also have small chapels or places to pray, although the services provided by funeral homes are usually addressed to any person regardless of his confession or his religious beliefs, even his services are also used by no believers.
