The concept of Deja vu is a concept French, whose translation into Spanish would be "Already seen", because precisely from it you can refer to that experience of feeling that you have already lived or witnessed, previously, a new situation.
Phenomenon that causes a situation to be perceived as already experienced even though it has not been.
The name of the phenomenon is due to French psychic Émile Boirac, who lived between the years 1851 and 1917.
So, Déjà vu, also called paramnesia , usually appears in the minds of people accompanied by a combination of sensations, on the one hand, familiarity and on the other hand, strangeness.
Causes
Its scholars attribute that sensation to various issues, on the one hand to having already experienced something new to a previous dream that the individual has had.
While others speak directly of an error in our brains, when it comes to the function of storage memory, in which by a mistake the neural circuits that are the responsible for producing the sensation of memory and for that reason it is believed to remember something that it happened.
Our brain has different kinds of memory, the immediate one that lasts a few seconds; the short-term one that perceives the present events and lasts a few hours; and long-term memory that perceives events in the past and can last for years.
Meanwhile, in Déjà vu, the brain stores the events that are happening in long-term memory instead of doing so. in the immediate type and that is why the feeling of having previously lived the event in question arises.
It should be noted that in some cases the conviction of having lived through the situation is such that it ends up believing that in reality it was.
This brain disorder that affects memory does not usually generate relevant problems, it is normal, because more than 70% of the population worldwide has happened, for example, it is not a problem for a few, and also does not interfere in a negative way in any way with the daily rhythm of life.
When a treatment is needed
However, if its succession is repeated, a specialist such as a neurologist or psychiatrist should be consulted for treatment.
The diagnosis Most effective of paramnesia is the medical history, in which the doctor can know the frequency with which this disorder is experienced.
Once the doctor confirms the diagnosis, you will be prescribed an anticonvulsant medication to treat the aforementioned memory disorder.
In adults, treatment must be continued for life because if the drug The problem usually reappears, while children with it can overcome it forever after treatment because their young brains enjoy faster repair.
Although there is no specific cause that develops this disorder, it is speculated that it is the result of a threat from abortion suffered by her mother during her pregnancy that later affects his son, some strong blow to the head, an entanglement with the umbilical cord.
Déjà vu classes
There are three types of Déjà vu, on the one hand the déjà vécu (something that feels like experienced), on the other hand, the let me feel (something that was timely felt and that will remain a mental fact; does not have pre-cognitive aspects and usually does not remain in the memory of the individual who experiences it) and finally the let me visit (It would be something like "already visited" and implies the strange sensation of believing that you have already known a place that you are visiting for the first time; it is less frequent than the previous ones).
According to the statistics made in this regard, at least 70% of people confirm that they have ever experienced Déjà vu.
However, it turns out to be extremely complex to recreate this experience in a laboratory, therefore, there are not many experimental studies on the subject.
Some scholars claim that it is absolutely possible to create Déjà vu through hypnosis.
A curiosity about Déjà vu is that it has been addressed repeatedly in artistic works and mentioned very frequently in popular culture.
Two well-known examples in the seventh art are Matrix and the production starring Denzel Washington entitled Déjà vu.
In the first case, Déjà vu consists of a failure of the mental system and in the second case, Déjà vu stands as the key to deciphering a crime.
