Between 1982 and 1994 those who make up Generation Y were born. In popular language they are also known as millennials, Peter Pan or boomerang generation. They are the children of Generation X.
A general profile
Sociologists have analyzed the mindsets and lifestyle of millennials. They stand out for their novel language and their consumer habits. Like the previous generations that preceded them, Y's have once again changed the "rules of the game." It is a youth fully integrated in a globalized world where borders do not exist.
His identitycultural is directly associated with Internet and to social networks. They are handled naturally with memes, likes or online shopping. Some analysts believe that this generation suffers from anxiety chronicle and that he fears losing himself in the anonymity of the crowd. They are "multitasking" people capable of identifying with very different roles (a millennial can be a DJ, surfer, influencer, nerd, movie buff and runner at the same time).
They are considered the most plural and eclectic generation in history. Despite the fact that his contacts on social networks are very numerous, his personal relationships are unstable and short-lived. They do not get along with traditional hierarchical approaches to the world of work and prefer to combine work with pleasure. Y's are hedonists and find being young sexy and fun. They have abandoned conventional social utopias and focused on other demands and concerns (animal rights, solidarity projects, volunteering or support for the collective LGTB). On the economic level, they are open to crowfounding projects. Millennials are travelers, bloggers, and series addicts.
They cannot conceive of their life without Wi-Fi and apps. If they have to go to movie theater or to a show they buy tickets online and print them. From a psychological point of view they stand out for their narcissism and for this reason they are known as "Generation Me". According to most studies, this is a generation that lives comfortably at home with their parents and some of them suffer from Peter Pan syndrome.
They do not remember a world without internet
The revolution technology has changed the lives of the Y. In this sense, it is a generation that is completely unaware of how people lived before the new technologies. Chances are they didn't send a handwritten letter.
They do not know leisure margin of social networks. Surely they have not consulted an encyclopedic dictionary conventional. They also don't know what it's like to play soccer in the street.
From a technological point of view, they have never used a discman, a cassette or a vinyl record. The use of paper maps or photo development is known from the movies.
