Running is an Anglicism that has been incorporated into our language and that means running. Previously, other equivalent terms that come from English, such as jogging or jooging, were also used. The use of English in different areas and especially in the sport is a reality and is appreciated in various activities (fitness, aerobics, bodybuilding).
In Spanish, words other than running could be used to refer to this activity: to run, running, trot, Athletics and others. In any case, the term running has been tax and its practice is a social phenomenon.
In recent years the world of running has gained many followers, who are interested in all related aspects with the act of running (training systems, the use of applications to plot routes or count kilometers, advice from feeding, sports equipment and a myriad of elements).
There is a curious aspect about running, since it is a mass sport, but athletics is a minority. Faced with this apparent contradiction, it is worth a brief reflection. Athletics and running are similar but not the same. Athletics focuses on a 400-meter track where the different disciplines of this sport are practiced and is focused on competition. Instead, running is practiced by
air free in different spaces and the competition has a popular and festive orientation.10 reasons to go running
When millions of people around the world practice an activity and are satisfied it must be for some reason. Thus, we present 10 reasons why running is worth practicing:
1- There is an improvement in cardiac capacity and a general benefit throughout the body.
2- Running produces endorphins, a chemical that makes us feel happy.
3- Helps burn calories and maintain weight.
4- You can practice alone or accompanied.
5- It is a relatively cheap sport.
6- It is practiced anywhere and in all kinds of circumstances (in a park, on the beach, on an urban circuit, on vacation, cold or hot, day or night).
7- The training allows you to keep track of the progress that is being achieved (both in physical well-being and in the records that are obtained).
8- Promotes sleep.
9- It adapts to any age and there is no distinction between sexes.
10- And finally a very brief reflection. Running is a fair sport because the one who runs the most wins, no matter the money or the social class nor race.
